About the Olive B. Cole Foundation
Founded in 1954 by Richard R. Cole in honor of his mother, Olive B. Cole, the Olive B. Cole Foundation has grown from a small family endowment into a major philanthropic force in Northeast Indiana. Thanks to the growth of the Flint & Walling Manufacturing Company, whose stock helped establish the foundation, the organization is now able to invest deeply in strengthening local communities.
Today, the Olive B. Cole Foundation is a private, tax-exempt foundation dedicated to improving the quality of life across Northeast Indiana, with a special focus on Noble, DeKalb, LaGrange, and Steuben counties. Guided by a spirit of innovation, the foundation supports education, economic development, crisis assistance, recreation, and environmental conservation.
Their generosity makes scholarships like this possible and helps local students build a brighter future close to home.
