Byron Health Scholars Program

For Current Students

The Byron Health Scholars Program supports students with funding for their last two years of postsecondary education and connects them with career opportunities at Byron Health after graduation. Scholars can receive up to $10,000 in forgivable loans over two years ($5,000 per academic year/$2,500 per semester). This is 100% forgivable when scholars graduate and work at Byron Health.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Acceptance and/or enrollment at an accredited, not-for-profit college or university (including online programs) in a certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree program to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN), (including LPN Bridge program and accelerated nursing degree programs), and within two years of graduation

  • A cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or greater is preferred

  • A financial gap in affording educational expenses

  • Intend to work at Byron Health upon graduation

Byron Health Employee Tuition Assistance Program

For current Byron Health Employees

At Byron Health Center, your career growth matters. Through the Byron Health Employee Tuition Assistance Program, you can pursue a college degree or professional credential with financial support designed to help you succeed.

Eligible Byron employees can receive up to $5,250 per year in loan support for education expenses, for up to four years. That’s up to $21,000 in total tuition assistance, with the opportunity for 100% loan forgiveness when you continue your career at Byron after graduation.

Eligibility requirement:

  • Successful employment at Byron for one (1) year, working as a full or part-time employee

  • Have an acceptable level of job performance, which includes minimal attendance or tardy issues, contributes to a positive culture, and an annual performance review with a score of three (3) or higher

  • Acceptance and/or enrollment at an accredited, not-for-profit college or university (including online programs) in a certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree. Priority given to staff pursuing a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN), including the LPN Bridge program and accelerated nursing degree programs)

  • Commitment to continue working at Byron Health Center

After completing your program:

  • 100% of your loan can be forgiven through continued employment at Byron

  • One year of employment equals one year of loan forgiveness (up to $5,250 per year)

  • Partial forgiveness is available if part of the work commitment is completed

To receive full forgiveness, you must:

  • Graduate from your program

  • Meet licensure or certification requirements (if applicable)

  • Remain employed at Byron Health during the work-back period
