ACPL Scholars Program

For Current and Future ACPL Employees

The Questa ACPL Scholars Program supports current and future Allen County Public Library employees with funding for postsecondary education and encourages life-long learning. Students may receive up to $20,000 in loans that are 100% forgiven when they graduate from their academic program and work at the Allen County Public Library for three years after graduation.

Eligibility RequirementS:

  • Successful employment ACPL for at least one year, or intent to work at ACPL upon graduation (working a minimum of 28 hours/week)

  • Acceptance* and/or current enrollment in an accredited American Library Association master's program

  • Commitment to work at ACPL for three years after graduation to earn maximum debt forgiveness

  • GPA of 2.5 or above (note: 3.0 undergraduate GPA required for many MLS programs)

  • A financial gap in affording educational expenses

  • Residents of northeast Indiana or surrounding areas are preferred; those interested in relocating to the area will be considered

  • Applicants who help us accurately represent the identities of our community are welcome

    *Current ACPL staff members who have not yet applied for an MLS program can be considered; please contact Questa for guidance on the application documents requested.

 

2024 Program Timeline

Nov 1, 2023: Application opens for current ACPL employees

Dec 13, 2023 (11am-12pm): Virtual information session with Questa to learn more about the program and application process. This session will be recorded and made available for those unable to attend.

Feb 2, 2024: Priority application deadline (apply by this deadline for best consideration). If all 2024 awards are not made to the early applicant pool, the application will remain open past this deadline for additional applicants.

Feb 5-15, 2024: Interviews scheduled with selected applicants.

Feb 16, 2024: Award notification to selected applicants
