Questa Scholars Program in Engineering

Questa Foundation and regional schools of engineering have created a special Pay Back Partnership Program for Questa Scholars who pursue their engineering degree at IPFW, Indiana Tech or Trine University.

This specialized program was launched in May 2010.  Up to 10% of Questa Scholars loan awards over the next five years (2010-2014) will be earmarked for students from participating counties who choose to study engineering at IPFW, Trine University and Indiana Tech.

Questa Scholar applicants who wish to study engineering at these universities must meet all eligibility requirements of the Questa Scholars Program.

Students selected for participation in the Questa Scholars Program in Engineering at IPFW, Trine and Indiana Tech are eligible to borrow up to $5,000 per year ($2,500 per semester) for a total of $20,000 over four years.

If a Questa Scholar graduates with a 2.75 GPA within four years from IPFW, Indiana Tech or Trine, and elects to live and work in the eleven counties of northeast Indiana for at least five years after graduation, Questa will forgive 50% of the debt over a five year period.

The rate of debt forgiveness over five years is on a graduated scale:

          Year 1 - 5% forgiveness

          Year 2 - 7.5% forgiveness

          Year 3 - 10% forgiveness

          Year 4 - 12.5% forgiveness

          Year 5 - 15% forgiveness

Through a new Questa Pay Back Partnership agreement with IPFW, Indiana Tech and Trine, Questa Scholars in engineering who graduate within four years are eligible to have an additional 25% of their Questa loan balance repaid on their behalf immediately by their alma mater.

This means that a Questa Scholar in engineering may borrow up to $20,000 over four years and qualify for up to 75% in debt forgiveness (50% by Questa) and loan repayment (25% by university).

[Please note: In IPFW's case, this pay back agreement only applies to IPFW engineering students in the Questa Scholars Program.  Questa Scholars studying other disciplines at IPFW do not qualify for the additional 25% debt repayment from IPFW.]

Students selected for participation in the Questa Scholars Program in Engineering must be continuously enrolled full-time and complete their undergraduate degree in engineering within four years.

Questa Scholars in engineering who change majors are not eligible to continue to borrow from Questa Foundation. Students who graduate with a degree other than engineering are not eligible for debt forgiveness from Questa Foundation or debt repayment by their university.

Please contact Questa Foundation with any questions you may have about this special program.
